Galleria d’Arte Maggiore g.a.m

Galleria d'arte Maggiore g.a.m. was founded in 1978 by Franco and Roberta Calarota, who realised that there was an urgent need, at that time, to promote the activity of documentation, knowledge and mediation of the great names of Italian art. The research and development work carried out by Maggiore g.a.m., both in terms of cultural promotion and on the market, positions the gallery as an organic and authoritative interlocutor in the Italian and international artistic context.

Since 2008, the gallery has been reviving the vitality of historic names, offering them in continuity with the art of living, fully active generations, or through exhibitions of interdisciplinary dialogue.

Galleria d'Arte Maggiore g.a.m. is also renowned for its collection of twentieth-century masters (from Picasso to Magritte), and in particular for its attention to the art of Giorgio de Chirico and, above all, Giorgio Morandi. In recent years, under the direction of Alessia Calarota, Maggiore g.a.m. has also proposed interdisciplinary exhibitions that have linked art to other disciplines. Since 2019, Franco and Roberta Calarota have opened a new institutional reality: ACP Palazzo Franchetti by the Calarota Foundation in Venice, which has achieved 20 years of cultural promotion of artists by collaborating with museums around the world.
