The JRC Prize
With an endowment of €4,000, the JRC Prize aims to support the work of art history researchers dedicated to the study of drawing in France and/or Italy, from the 15th to the 19th century, through:
- preparation of a Master's degree;
- preparation of a doctoral thesis;
- writing and publication of an article or book;
- preparatory research for an exhibition.
The Jury
The jury is composed of Dominique Cordellier, Honorary Curator at the Department of Graphic Arts at the Louvre Museum; and Hélène Rihal, Director of the Old Masters and 19th Century Drawings Department at Christie's, Paris.
Applications
The JRC Prize is open to art historians of all nationalities, regardless of their level or status, under forty years of age and not salaried.
Applications may be written in French, English or Italian and must include:
- A curriculum vitae with list of works;
- A research project not exceeding 5 pages, presenting the state of research on the proposed subject, the main objective, proposed methodology and a brief financial plan;

About the Bella Maniera Association
Bella Maniera, a non-profit organization recognized as serving the public interest, was founded in 2015 by Sarah Catala with Frédérique Lanoë and Jane MacAvock. Its mission is to promote drawing and support research through various activities.
The association is open to all: students, museum professionals, art market participants, and enthusiasts. Members enjoy benefits such as private viewings and meetings with drawing professionals.
