The wall display “Northern Light” presents a selection of Scandinavian and Dutch drawings from the Musée d’Orsay, showcasing the artistic richness of Northern Europe.
Symbolist landscapes and domestic scenes reveal the diversity of 19th-century Northern European drawing.
The exhibition highlights the museum’s commitment to expanding its collection of foreign artists: recent Swedish and Dutch acquisitions stand alongside works that entered the collections more than a century ago.
Long-absent Nordic symbolist landscapes complement the domestic scenes of Carl Larsson and Peder Severin Krøyer, while Carl Forsberg and Philippe Smit, little known in their lifetime, find their place alongside these renowned figures.
