Galerie 1900-2000

Marcel Fleiss opened the Galerie des Quatre Mouvements in 1972, encouraged by his friend Man Ray, with an exhibition of forty of the artist’s rayograms.

At the Galerie des Quatre Mouvements, then, from 1981, at the Galerie 1900-2000, Marcel Fleiss organized more than 150 exhibitions devoted to major artists or rediscoveries, and published more than 100 catalogues, some considered as sources of rare and important primary documentation. Since 1991, his son David has developed among others the photographic department.

Currently, Marcel and David Fleiss together devote themselves primarily to Surrealism (paintings, drawings, and photographs), while continuing to champion the art of the 20th Century and the emerging art of the 21st Century.
